A Special Visit

Last weekend Jimmy and I had the privilege of visiting with Rod, Andrea, and Mattea Pauls. They were here from Albuquerque, NM to be honored at the annual meeting of the Trustees for 25 years of service with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship!! It was such a treat to see them- I hadn't seen them since before leaving New Mexico 8 years ago! For those of you who know my testimony, you know that God greatly used the InterVarsity chapter the Pauls started at UNM as well as their influence on my life during that time to bring me back to Himself. During my time in IV our group was working on a manuscript study of Luke; the time spent pouring over God's Word in that study was rich and life-changing! Rod remains the director of the Rio Grande area, with the IV chapters at the University of Texas-El Paso, NM Tech, and UNM all under his care. Please pray for their family as they continue the important work of ministering to students and leading IV staff in their area!

   The Pauls Family

We got to pick them up at the airport on Thursday night, have dinner at Whole Foods on Saturday night, and spend most of the day with them Sunday! Sunday we went to Hi 5 in downtown Raleigh for lunch and then walked around historic Oakwood (also in Raleigh). There were lots of beautiful historic homes to see as well as a Confederate Cemetery. We finished off that afternoon relaxing over some Krispy Kreme donuts! We were grateful to be able to spend so much time with them!

 Sweet Little Mattea!

Their daughter Mattea is 19 months old, so of course we were meeting her for the first time! She was precious!!

We look forward to the next time we can see them and hope that it's sooner rather than later!
