Charlie's Visitors

In the first six weeks of Charlie's life, lots of family and friends came to see him. We were excited to see everyone and thankful they took the time to come see us. We felt very taken-care-of since everyone came toting either food for us or a gift for Charlie! What generous family and friends we have!

His first visitors were in the hospital- our dear friends Mandie and Jason, Stephanie Lyon, Nick and Ashley, and Debbi and Leonard all drove to Oxford to keep us company and meet Charlie. Then once we got home we had a lot of visitors as well!

Rebecca's Mom & Dad, who are affectionately referred to now as Granana & Granddaddy
They were, of course, there with us the whole way... at the hospital during and after the delivery, at our house the day after we came home from the hospital, and multiple times since then to visit with us, love on their new grandson and baby-sit so we could have date nights!, and shower us with awesome things like diapers for Charlie and TP and paper towels for us (you gotta love when you don't have to buy those pricey necessary items!!).

Stephanie Lyon, from our small group

Our whole small group ended up coming at various times because they all brought us dinner (I don't think we cooked for a month after coming home from the hospital)!
Rebecca's co-worker, Greg, and his wife Becky visited and brought us dinner as well. (Wow...)

Tim and Patty Davis, good family friends from South Boston, came by the Sunday after we got home, but we didn't have a picture to post. Rebecca grew up with them in church and still sees them most Christmases! It is always great to see them.

Aunt Sallie and Uncle Dennis made the trek from Lynchburg, VA. We had a great time together! Grandma wanted to come too, but she was sick that day. Grandma and Gene were able to meet our Charlie a few weeks later in Virginia.

 Rebecca's brother, Uncle Daniel
He aspires to teach our son about the Yankees, the Three Stooges, and saltwater fishing. In fact, the first thing he told Charlie was "Go Yankees!" Lots of good times to come with Uncle Daniel!

Here is Emily Bowen, who actually drove home from JMU and then drove with her parents, Debbi and Leonard, from Halifax to Durham to meet our man! She came with a precious pewter train that had Charlie's name and birthday engraved on the top - a very special gift indeed.
Debbi and Leonard and their other daughter Anna are special long-time friends of our family. We've spent many vacations with them!!!

Sweet cousin Darla
The Adams clan came down from Stamford, CT for Darla's baby dedication in Lynchburg. On their way to Cary to see Mark's parents they were able to come over for a wonderful afternoon visit! We all had lunch and celebrated Darla's birthday (a little belated, but we still celebrated...). We wish we could wiggle our noses and be in CT any time we want... we miss them so much and were so glad to see them!

Katherine Barker, a.k.a. "Kacoo"
Kacoo, Jane, and Rhonda came down one Saturday afternoon, and we had a great time with many laughs! We all visited and then went to Cracker Barrel together. The afternoon was extra special since we found out Charlie will be getting a new cousin come October! Yay!!!!

Kacoo, Donnie, & Aunt Rhonda
For some reason we don't have a picture of Aunt Jane, but she was there! And she brought marvelous peppermint cupcakes with her that somehow disappeared after only a day or two....

In addition to all these great visits, we got quite a few phone calls from family and friends who weren't able to come by. Our family in Tennessee blessed us with these phone calls, and Mam-maw Bettra, Granny, and Marilyn sent Charlie a whole box of cute clothes and other goodies! They will be coming to see Charlie soon! We also can't wait for Charlie to meet his little cousins Oliver, Alice, Micah, Miley, Ashley, and Megan, and his aunts and uncles too - Daniel and Stephanie, Mark and Melissa, Marilyn, and Yvette!

THANK YOU FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR LOVING US SO WELL!!!!
