Granddaddy's Birthday

This year for Dad's birthday I got to take the boys up to VA for part of a day to visit him! It was so much fun to visit on a Monday afternoon now that he is retired! We had celebrated his birthday when they came here the week before, so this was an extra celebration that was extra special. : )

Once we got there Dad, Daniel, and the boys and I headed out for a yummy Mexican lunch. When we got back we had some dessert- Daniel and I had ice cream, and Dad ate some of the goodies we brought him for his birthday. Charlie realized that I had mint chocolate chip ice cream and that Granddaddy had banana pudding, so he ran from one of us to the other getting bites of both our desserts! After each bite he said "Mmmm!" and ran excitedly to the next person (he repeated this multiple times...). We probably had a better time giving him dessert than eating it ourselves!

We also got to surprise Mom at work! She was very excited about this since she didn't get to eat lunch with us.
