Easter Egg Hunts

Charlie was old enough this year to learn how to hunt for eggs, and we had a great time at three different hunts!
The first was the community one held at Joyner Park. Since we arrived right before Charlie's age group was supposed to hunt and then had to wait in a looong line to park, we missed it. I was bummed about this so we let him hunt in the next age group, ha! You know, I figured he would only pick up an egg or two so it wouldn't be a problem. We'll know for next year to get there a lot earlier!

I had to leave to help with a catering job, so Jimmy and Charlie enjoyed the egg hunt together. Jimmy said Charlie was a little bewildered at the mad rush of the children at the beginning!

The next Easter egg hunt we went to was in Jenn, Derek, and Cora's backyard, and we had a great time there! The kids actually had to hunt for the eggs, which I think is way more fun than throwing the eggs in a field and letting the kids charge at them... We know Jenn and Cora from our Tuesday play group, library
story time, and through our mutual friends Josh and Paige.

Henry enjoyed watching the others.

Charlie thought it was amazing that there were surprises in some of the eggs!

Jenn made some really cute and yummy cupcakes!

Inside this blanket is brand new baby June Apple! Paige's parents were up here for that and came to the Easter egg hunt too.

Charlie thought he found another egg later in the afternoon and got stuck in this fence trying to get it. Alas, it was a dog toy!!

The Saturday before Easter we went to Mom and Dad's for our Easter celebration together.

Look at the beautiful spring table Mom set! Charlie immediately went for the eggs.
We had a wonderful lunch, and then the boys got to look at their Easter presents from Granana and Gammer.

Charlie was delighted to receive this tee ball set and immediately wanted to play!

Charlie did a good job sharing and letting everyone else hit as well!

After tee ball we headed outside to let Charlie hunt for some eggs! Charlie had enjoyed it so much at Jenn's house, and I wanted Mom and Dad to see him hunt for eggs.

Can't you hear him say, "Charlie find it! Charlie find da egg!"

Once again, Charlie was delighted to find candy inside his eggs!

Charlie didn't waste any time getting into that candy...

The boys enjoyed a wagon ride down Shady Lane after the egg hunt.

Getting to be such a big boy!
