Easter Week Trip to Virginia

On Easter Monday the boys and I headed to Lynchburg to visit with family! We were especially excited to meet baby Cal for the first time!

He is the cutest and most cuddly little thing ever!

Darla breakdancing for us!

It was so much fun to watch the 4 great-grandbaby cousins play together. I reeeeeally wish we lived closer to Mark and Meredith!

I thought this was funny of Henry sticking his tongue out...

Trying to get a picture of Grandma with her great-grandkids; more easily said than done!

They're all looking!!!

Bedtime story with Mamee, Dennis, and Grandma!

The next morning the kids had more fun playing together.

Darla and Charlie on top of the coffee table! (Their expressions are hilarious to me!)

Mom, Sallie, and Grandma watched the kids for Meredith and me that day so we could have a girl's afternoon out. We did this last year too and had a great time, so we thought we'd do it again! Here's to hoping we can do this annually! We had a nice lunch at Red Lobster, then got pedicures and cookies at the mall, and then did a bit of consignment store shopping.

The kids were playing outside as Meredith and me were leaving for our afternoon date.

Meredith and I got back in time for a pizza family dinner.

Clearly the kids liked their strawberry cake! They both licked their plates...

Darla gave everyone a concert and dance show after dinner. She definitely has some moves!

Once it was the kids' bedtime we headed to Mom and Dad's house to spend the night. Charlie and Henry were going to stay with them until Thursday (we got there Tuesday night). Wednesday I took some time to have a personal retreat of sorts. I spent the morning in the basement with Scripture and Surprised by Hope (by N.T. Wright) and some peace and quiet, then headed out to Scottsburg for a refreshing walk in the afternoon.

The water tower on Mill Rd.

The weather couldn't have been more perfect. It was such a peaceful walk and provided some great time to pray and reflect.

After my retreat I headed to Cary to Nick and Stephanie's house, where we all had dinner before heading out to the Eric Clapton concert.

It was such a wonderful show... you can't go wrong with some blues, funk, and rock! Eric Clapton seemed so chill and down to earth, and the audience was just relaxed and singing along too. It was a really fun night out.

The next morning I slept in since the boys were in VA and then went out to Cisco to meet Jimmy for lunch and to see his cubicle. I got back in time to welcome the boys home, and we spent a relaxing night together. Such a fun week!!
