Mother's Day 2013

We had a wonderful Mother's Day celebration this year that turned out to last almost the whole weekend! Saturday morning I picked to go to Brig's for brunch (one of my favorites) and then strawberry picking. I had never been strawberry picking before and had been wanting to experience that for a while. We were initially going to The Collard Patch in Rolesville, but when we got there a sign outside said they were closed for the weekend to let the strawberries ripen. We looked up other strawberry farms on Jimmy's phone and decided on Pope's. Basically a family made strawberry fields in their huge front yard, and you went to pay in their garage.

Charlie got really into it and wanted to pick every strawberry in sight.

After a few minutes the excitement was over for Henry, and the stroller wheels held his attention until we had to go.

When we went to pay for the berries, Charlie noticed their golf cart and wanted to give it a try!

Little brother comes to investigate too.

Devouring strawberries in the front seat and wishing he could drive...

The spoils!

On the way home we decided to stop at the Neuse River Bridge and Greenway that I had seen a few days before. We had a good time taking a walk together!

Look at our Henry!

The next day after a nice service at church, we headed to Bahama Breeze for lunch. Originally we weren't going to go anywhere since we had celebrated on Saturday, but we had a Darden gift card and decided to try out a new restaurant. We really enjoyed our food and thought the atmosphere was nice, too!

Clearly Charlie got into some tasty food. And, for the record, these pictures are from Jimmy's phone.

A day or so later... decked out in all his Elmo gear, saying "Cheeeeeese!!"

Also a day or so later, when we put the boys in the wagon for a ride one night. It was chilly that night, thus the jackets and the blanket for their legs!

The Sunday after Mother's Day we celebrated with Granana at Chili's after church. Charlie was beside himself with excitement to give her these flowers! He accidentally dropped them once on the way to the table, but quickly picked them up, ran to her and threw the flowers on the table, and pretty much jumped in her arms!

Our boy and his Granana (well, he calls her Grana now, so I guess I should say "Our boy and his Grana!"). He and Henry eat up the way she loves them, dotes on them, plays with them, and takes care of them. Thank you Grana!
(Charlie was so proud of his card for her and those flowers!)

"Cheese!"

Us! And that is quite a good-looking man beside me!

Too cute.

This sweet boy is also just too cute!

The whole gang. It's incredible that everyone but Henry is looking at the camera and smiling!

I love to see my brother laugh this hard!

Handsome guy.

After lunch everyone came to our house for a brief visit.
I love this picture of Daniel playing with his nephews! Charlie asks for him a lot and LOVES when he gets to see him and play with him! (I'm sure Henry would ask for him too... if he could talk...)

The Byrds, Mother's Day Celebration 2013
What a blessed woman I am to call this bunch my family! I can't thank you enough, Lord!
