Tennessee Family Visit, Part II

On Tuesday while Jimmy was at work the girls and Charlie hung out together! We started by having breakfast together at the hotel and swimming a little bit. Then we headed to Wake Forest for lunch and shopping!

At Charlie's Kabob Grill in Heritage (the new one!)

So yummy... we all had a great lunch and then baklava for dessert!

We headed to the Wakefield GCF and had great luck! Here is Granny with all the loot!

Charlie was a great shopper but was tuckered out afterwards!

Tuesday night Jimmy and I served Bettra and Granny a belated Mother's Day dinner of quiche, fruit salad, muffins, and chocolate mousse for dessert. We wanted to honor them in person since we didn't get to be with them over the actual holiday. Then we all vegged out and watched a movie together. They all spent the night on Tuesday!

Wednesday Bettra and I went to the mall because I wanted to buy this:
This version of Good Night Moon is one of those recordable books! Mam-maw recorded her voice reading it and even added "Good Night, Charlie. Mam-maw loves you!" to the end. Charlie is able to hear her voice regularly this way, even though he doesn't get to see her often. He LOVES this book. He grins every time I open it! (The other day he wouldn't drink his bottle unless I played it over and over again... I think this is one of those books I'll have memorized soon...)

That evening we put together some leftovers and made Shepherd's Pie! I had a great time in the kitchen with Bettra.

After dinner, they had to start their journey back to Tennessee. It goes without saying that we were sad to see them go- but we had a great time making new memories and hanging out together!

The family! Thanks for driving all the way out here to see us and for spoiling us! Thanks also for loving us so well, despite the distance. We love you and miss you!
